Teaching Staff

Principal: Susan Sargison A.R.A.D. Diploma of Dance, Australian Ballet School R.A.D. Advanced Certificate Teaching certificate, Royal Academy of Dance. Certificate 1V in TAA 40104 Susan is a graduate of the Australia Ballet School performing with both the Australian Ballet and the Dancers Company in her final year of study. Susan has had an extensive career as a professional dancer overseas in London and Europe. Her career has spanned both Classical and Musical Theatre genres. A qualified Teacher, Adjudicator and Internal Assessor. With a broad knowledge of many dance styles Susan opened Hawthorn Studio of Dance in 1991.
Genevieve Nash Genevieve holds a Diploma of Dance, Music Theatre (Dance Factory) and R.A.D. Intermediate Examination. She has recently completed the Certificate in Ballet Teaching from the Royal Academy of Dance. Teacher of Classical, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop.
Georgina Sargison Georgina holds a Diploma of Dance, Music Theatre ( Dance Factory) and has recently been working for P&O Crusies as a Dancer and then assistant to the Choreographer William Forsythe. Her styles include Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop.
Clare Nash Clare has completed V.C.E. Dance at H.S.O.D. Ceritficate IV, Music Theatre (Dance Factory). Clare has been teaching dance for many years while completing her studies in Physiotherapy. Teacher of Classical, Jazz and Tap.
Tonya Jade Dawson Tonya has a been a student at the Hawthorn Studio of Dance completing her R.A.D, Intermediate Examination. Tonya has trained to become a teacher and is a delight with our younger Baby Toes ballet students. She also teaches Jazz and Tap.
Laura Schultz Laura studied dance in the U.K. and has completed her R.A.D, Intermediate Examination. Laura has become a welcome staff member and is fantastic with our younger students.

The Hawthorn studio invites guest teachers on a regular basis with the latest dance styles.

All teachers have 'A Working with Children Check' and Level One First Aid training as required by the Victorian State Goverment.
